British Men's Barbershop Quartet

Gold Medal Champions

Monkey Magic!!!!!

In August 2007 four young guys who sing with the National Barbershop Youth Chorus decided to sing a few numbers in quartet - and within nine months were British Quartet champions! Recently they added the inaugural British Youth Quartet title to their list of achievements. Al, Zac, Joe and Duncan have had a meteoric rise to become the best male barbershop quartet in the UK but are determined to stay together and improve even more. They have already appeared and competed in America and are scheduled to return there in July 2009 to sing in both the International and the Collegiate barbershop quartet contests. Recent appearances have included live performances on BBC1 television and local radio stations. Their enthusiasm, matched by singing and performance of the highest quality, make them one of the most popular quartets in the history of British barbershop.

  ........and for something completely different.......

Gerry Maudsley

Providing our audience with some high quality contrasting light entertainment, we have Gerry Maudsley. Gerry's light hearted turn of wit is sure to have the audience rolling with laughter.

Today Gerry is the President of the George Formby Society, and has been playing a Banjo Ukulele for over 40 years, His comedy roots started in a cabaret comedy band named Laughingstock. After many shows on Radio and Television in the 70s and 80s he has played at most theatres in Britain, He has also played at what he considers to be the ultimate venue in the world, the Crazy Horse saloon in Paris.

Between 1985 and 1987 he held the Guinness world record for fire eating!

This is a rare and unique opportunity for a North Wales audience to witness such high quality Harmony Singing and comedy, assembled for one night only in the intimate cabaret style surroundings of the superb Clwyd Room.
